What to Expect During a Pool Installation
June 20, 2018by SEOteamPOOL AND SPA
Deciding to install a pool in your Denver Metro home can be a very exciting time. Not only will you have a new, enjoyable space to relax with your family, it’ll be a perfect getaway when you get home from work after a long day at the office.
At this point, you’ve met with the contractor and you’ve chosen a design that works well with your back yard.
Your wife and kids have been having a heyday ordering rafts and toys off Amazon.
All that’s left is the install.
Here’s what you can expect that to look like.
Patience is key
In a perfect world you’d be able to snap your fingers and the whole thing would be done. We know you’re excited, but unfortunately, the Denver pool installation process is going to take a little longer than that.
Step 1
To start, the contractor will need to pull permits. Once that’s done they’ll need to begin excavation, which is the first step in this process. Why? Because the place where your pool will be (when all of this is done) is going to have a lot of dirt in it. That dirt will need to be removed and hauled off before the preliminary construction of your pool can begin. You can expect this stage to be noisy and messy.
Step 2
After the dirt is removed, the Denver swimming pool construction will begin. The pool will be framed and you may begin to see signs of plumbing, which will be used for cleaner lines, drains and returns.
Step 3
Now that the preliminary work has been completed, the gunite will be installed. Ultimately, this is a layer of sand, water and cement that’s sprayed onto the framing to create a dense, hard layer. This will take some time to cure.
Step 4
After the gunite is fully cured the pool contractors will apply an interior finish, which will waterproof the shell. You’ll have quite a few options when it comes to colors and textures. This is also the time where an electrician will need to come in to complete the electrical work.
So how long will this take?
There are several factors that will come into play when it comes to providing an exact installation timeline. The best thing to do is to ask the Denver swimming pool contractor about this at the time they come out to design your pool.
