The pool repair process

Although concrete is durable and will be able to withstand many problems that may come in the way, there will be times where your pool will need to be repaired.
There are many ways your pool will need repairs over the years as it grows older and as your family uses it. Make sure you prepare for the ways your pool will need to be updated and repaired over the years.
Cracks in the pool
Over the years, the concrete and the plaster in your pool will begin to crack. Most concrete pools will crack at some point, but some will crack more than others and may even split in half.
Specialists will widen the crack before fixing it. Then they will clean it out and use pool plaster to fill it in. Once it is fixed, your pool is ready to be filled and return to normal.
Replastering can also fix cracks in the surface of the pool. It will put a new layer of plaster on the walls and the bottom of your pool, making it waterproof.
Acid washing
Acid washing can fix a rough pool surface by removing dirt or calcium deposits found at the bottom.
In this method, a thin part of the pool’s surface will be removed to effectively clean all the first and calcium from it.
Retiling
Most concrete pools have tiles to keep the plaster in the pool from staining. However, as your pool grows older, it will need to be retiled to ensure the tile is doing its job and still looking new.
Your pool will need to be drained completely and then the old tiles will be removed. After that, the old adhesive will be removed from the surface and the walls of the pool will be scrubbed to make it cleaner and ready for the new tiles.
Once done, the new tiles will be set up and put onto the walls of the pool with a new adhesive. It will take a couple of days for the adhesive to fully dry and be ready for the pool to be filled again.
If you think your pool may need repaired before the summer begins, consider looking deeper into any of these processes.
